BMI varicose vein treatment

BMI varicose vein treatment packages offer you:

  • Individual care and attention
  • The full clinical back up and support services of a BMI hospital
  • High standard of care from a professional nursing team
  • Inclusive prices for your peace of mind

BMI hospitals across the country offer two different ways of treating varicose veins - surgical stripping or laser treatment. Your care and well-being are our primary concerns and whichever the route to the treatment of your varicose veins you can be assured of a high standard of clinical care in a clean and comfortable environment. All BMI hospitals are fully registered with the Healthcare Commission.

Where a hospital offers both treatment methods the choice of which is appropriate for you will be taken after assessment by your specialist and in discussion with you. In general, however laser treatment involves a shorter time in hospital, offers a faster recovery time in terms of returning to normal activity and less bruising. Not all consultant surgeons favour the laser approach and the comparison of the long-term benefits of this technique with the traditional surgical approach has yet to be completed. Laser treatment is also not appropriate for all patients.

BMI's varicose vein treatment packages are appropriate for the first treatment of varicose veins only. Should you be seeking treatment for recurrent varicose veins you may book an appointment following the process outlined on the Our process page and should then discuss your needs with your consultant. The hospital will offer, if appropriate, a 'package' arrangement for the treatment of recurrent varicose veins according to your individual needs.

If you are insured you may still enjoy the benefits of treatment in a BMI hospital. You should seek a referral from your GP to the consultant of your choice, or to the one that your GP recommends; contact your insurance company to check you are covered; and then contact your local BMI hospital to make an appointment.
